Visiting Parks

With the LA County Parks bond expected on the November 2016 ballot, I decided to personally record what parks mean to me, by recording which parks I go to as part of my daily life - city, county, state, or national.

Hungry Valley Vehicular Recreational Area State Park. Gorman, California. May 15, 2016
Hiked from 9:30 to 11:30 on Golden Hill Road downward from Upper Scrub campground to the main road and then back up a bit past Upper Scrub a bit, and then back to Upper Scrub. It was nice way to stretch my legs on the way back from a road trip on the I-5, and to start my day in nature, setting a peaceful tone for the rest of the day. Even though the park has 130 miles of trails for motorcycles, four-wheel drive, and all-terrain vehicles, there are many times where no one is riding and the park is almost exclusively silent, especially on a Monday morning like that day.
